Hello Friday (Vol. 7)

Hello Friday Header

Listen, friends. You wanna go against the status quo? In simple living, in real food eating, in alternative health, in daring adventures?

The unfortunate truth is that it’s going to involve some serious discomfort. I have been pondering this truth lately, and have noticed that I’m too comfortable.

I don’t mean monetarily. Hubs has been “under-employed” for over two months now, and money’s tight. And I don’t mean literally, either – my butt is currently numb from this coffee shop chair I’ve parked at for the last couple of hours.

Too comfortable with the status quo, I mean. With being average. Because I’m too bone tired to do anything different. So the minor light bulb moment that I had today is that tired is where I need to start. I don’t accept tired as my norm anymore, and knowing that I have adrenal fatigue and making halfway attempts to heal it isn’t gonna cut it.

Time to get serious.

What I’m bumbling around and trying to say is that I am ready to lay the smack down in my life. The clutter in our house, the bad habits in our diet, the lack of self-discipline and routine – all of it is driving me bonkers. All of it exhausts me.

I’m mulling all of this over lately, and big shifts are on the horizon – I can feel it.

Does this resonate with anyone? What needs a shift in your life?

On My Kitchen Agenda This Week

Got my kombucha revived… now I just hope it thrives and that I didn’t totally kill it by leaving it in a cupboard for three months. Fingers crossed we’ll be drinking kombucha this time next week!

Totally making this Grain-Free Chickpea & Lentil Flatbread that was guest posted here at R&H this week. Looks so good, and would be perfect for easy lunches.

I hope I’m wrong but I think you are making viedos too much for others, trying to please the audience, and less for yourself. There are a few vlogs turning from personal vlogs into funny shows due to rising popularity, and I pray that they don’t loose their essence.I have many thoughts on this but won’t make this reply my own blog, LOL

Once my kids were old enough, they weren’t allowed to tell me they were bored as they had to clean. 4 & 5 YOs can wipe down baseboards pick up their rooms, sort laundry. With the amount of toys they had (esp legos & dinosaurs and Ninja Turtles, there was no excuse. Worked quite well. 😉

I am so where you are. I’m exhausted and while I’m waiting for the Adrenal Fatigue books I have on hold at the library to come in so I can do more reading and see if my suspicions are correct and this is a problem to me, I know that sleep is the first thing I MUST work on. Been doing the Moneysavingmom.com #makeoveryourmornings class, which is oh-so-good, so I sat down today and worked on a bedtime routine that will set up my mornings for success and I’m really excited to work on this. And so tired I can barely wait for bedtime to come tonight. 8’oclock screens off. 9’o’clock lights off, baby! That’s my new goal.

So glad that you’re doing Crystal’s e-course, and that you’re loving it. She is one of the smartest people I know! Love her. :) If you find success in keeping to a bedtime routine, be sure to email me and tell me all about it. I need major work in that department!

Yes, I am right there with you! I’m ready for discipline and routine and peace and order and not waking up to the dishes and TV. We’re getting there, we’re coming out of the new baby fog, and this morning I did not wake up to the TV! Still had to finish the dishes, but I had most of them done last night. Small victories.

Oh man, I also hate waking up to the TV. My kids watch netflix every morning while we drag our weary bones out of bed. It’s not a pleasant way to start the day, that’s for sure. I’m looking forward to changing that! Well done on your small victory! A thousand bonus points to you! :) :) :)
